Scholarship Description
The University of Edinburgh offers Master's scholarships for postgraduate study in any subject offered by the University for the 2016-2017 academic session.
These scholarships awards, Edinburgh Global Masters Scholarships, are targeted to International students who are from countries outside of Europe.
Prospective students will be awarded the scholarships if they are accepted for admission on a full-time basis.
Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are nationals of countries outside the EU who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland.
Scholarship Criteria:
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
Eligible Groups
Citizens of African countries, Mexico, Canada, Middle East countries, China, Norway, Hong Kong, Russia, India, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and USA.

A number of scholarships will be awarded.
The Edinburgh Global Masters Scholarships granted 30 scholarships in 2015/2016 academic session, and 40 awards in the 2014/2015 academic sessions.

These scholarships will be tenable for one academic year
Scholarship benefits
Each scholarship will have a value of £3,000 for each award. These scholarships will be deducted from the tuition fees.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
Eligible applicants should complete a Postgraduate Master's Online Scholarship Application Form.
You will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.

DEADLINES:
The closing date for receipt of all scholarships is 1 April every year. All applications for the 2016/2017 academic session ends on 1st April, 2016.
PLEASE NOTE:
A Selection Committee will meet in late May 2016 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarships will be announced in early June 2016.
